The city
Preveza (Greek: Πρέβεζα, pronounced [ˈpreveza]) is a town in the Epirus region, northwestern Greece. Preveza is located on the northern peninsula at the mouth of the Gulf of Ambracia.
Thanks to the Aktio-Preveza tunnel, Preveza is very easy to reach in the summer via the Aktio airport, which you can see in the photo on the right.
Preveza itself is a picturesque town with a long boulevard along the city quay. From the quay you stroll right along the bougainvillea decorated streets, some of which are just around three meters wide and only accessible on foot. In these small streets you will find lots of shops and many restaurants. Preveza is in our opinion an undiscovered pearl of northwest Greece.
The two marinas
Preveza has a beautiful commercial marina and a recently renovated city harbor (completed in 2022). Depending on the availability of the town harbor along the boulevard, we can always divert to the commercial harbor.
The town harbor is pleasantly busy in the summer with people strolling along the pedestrianized promenade. If this appeals to you we can dock at the boulevard. For better facilities and showers we can move to the commercial marina.
The excursions
Preveza is an excellent starting point for several sailing trips. Here are some examples:
But of course we can also go from Preveza to the islands in the south. In that case, we'll go along the movable bridge in Lefkas, which is an adventure in itself.
